Merlin MS Centre Cornwall

Norman's Story

NORMAN GILBERT UPPER LIMB

When visiting the Merlin MS Centre for Upper limb therapy I find that it is as much a mental stimulant as physical, getting me to do exercises that are achievable i.e. boat rowing, picking apples (imaginary ones) then top it to hang the washing out using real pegs of different shapes and sizes, it makes me swear but very therapeutic. Winding an actual nut down a piece of threaded bar makes me use my hands, the OT had figured out what I use to do, an engineer!

By carrying out these activities it makes me thinks positively, acting as a stimulant and self-achievement even writing this on the iPad is thanks to her. By giving  me a verbal kick up the ___ and being subtly honest has been good for me. Encouragement makes you push yourself yet it's controlled, all days are good some better than others. Coming to the Merlin and interacting with others is a bonus even seeing Mike!!

I am comfortable with the whole package, it might be good for me but not for others and my wife see's the benefits as well.
