Niki has been offering counselling at Merlin MS Centre since 2009, working with the clinical team to support clients with MS and other neurological conditions. She is an experienced integrative therapist and supports both individuals and couples through her work.
She started training in 2007 after many years of working in further education, firstly as a teacher and then as a department head within the field of health and care.
She began teaching after gaining a range of experience within different sectors of health and social care including mental health, learning disability, disability and older people. As part of her education role she has been involved in mentoring and supporting student teachers.
Having experienced MS first hand within her family, Niki has a developed understanding of the implications that a complex condition such as MS can have not just on the individual, but also the family, friends and other networks surrounding them.
Since working at the Centre Niki has been able to expand her knowledge through supporting other neurological conditions including; Fibromyelgia, ME, Parkinsons and MSA.
